About Me

Hello everyone, my name is Justin Lamont and I would like to take this time to write something about my self. I am nineteen years old, i was born on February eleventh, 1998, and have lived in Hauppauge New York my whole life so far. I am of Italian descent, both sides of my family are from Naples Italy, and I have one older brother with me. I attended and graduated from Hauppauge High School last year, I now attend Farmingdale state college studying architecture as my major. Ever since I was little I have always been interested with architecture, even to the point I was stepping on Legos bare foot in my room, and anyone who knows what I'm talking about, you just know it hurt. Regardless, this is what I loved to do, build things, and now I am making it happen. I've never really been into sports all that much, in the past I have played soccer for about five years, then I switched to baseball for another five years, then by the time I got into middle school, I gave up sports completely, not because I was bad at them, but because I was coerced into doing them in the first place. Now, I prefer to run a few miles a day, just to stay in shape and because I kind of enjoy the stillness of the track, I currently have a job too, much like the short story we read in class "A&P' by John Updike, I work in a food store, but not on a register, I wouldn't have it. On days I am not working or running, I try to do things with my friends that are still in high school because we are all part of one big Stage Crew at Hauppauge, so I always try to stay close to them. Another part of my life is the performing arts, I'm not an actor, I'm apart of the set that is never seen, the Stage Crew, I make sure that the set pieces and props are where they are supposed to be, but in my last two years of high school, I was the lighting designer and lightning board operator. I am also a performer of music, I play two instruments mainly, which are Trumpet and Baritone. I performed with my schools concert Band freshmen year, then my teacher threw me right in with the wind ensemble, and as a trumpet player, that was not an easy thing to do considering we had so many Trumpet players. This has been my life so far, and am eagerly wanting to do more.

This is a photo of myself as Drum Major of Hauppauge High School Marching Band for three years consecutively at Hofstra University for the News Day Marching Band Festival.
