Horror Stories

For Horror, the goal is to instill fear and horror only, to the reader. Horror, in my opinion, falls under authors more like Stephen King, If you have ever read "The Mist" by Stephen King, then you know how that differs from Edgar Allan Poe. In "The Mist" by Stephen King, the adjectives he uses when describing gore, is next level compared to Edgar Allan Poe because Poe is more mundane, he does not describe the visual details as he does the psychological ones, Poe will make you know what it is like to be buried alive or tortured, he will make you feel the pain of this happening to you while you are ALIVE, versus King, where he will describe to you something you simply could live your life happily without seeing.
